At Satrang, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, process, and disclose your personal information in conjunction with your access to and use of the Satrang Next-Gen Satellite Data Engine.

• Account Information: Name, email address, institutional affiliation, and designated role (Admin vs User).
• Activity Data: The Regions of Interest (ROIs) you analyze, specific satellite sensors queried (e.g., Sentinel-2), and dates processed.
• Custom Datasets: Any geometric or raster data you explicitly upload to the platform for processing.
• Technical Data: IP addresses, browser types, and session tokens utilized to secure your access.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to securely operate and optimize the Satrang engine. Specifically, we use your data to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve our satellite analysis services.
• Perform necessary computational tasks based on your Map and Engine queries.
• Send you technical notices, updates, security alerts, and administrative messages.
• Monitor and analyze usage trends and API rate limiting to ensure fair platform availability.

3. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with third-party vendors, consultants, and other service providers who need access to such information to carry out work on our behalf.

Note on Satellite Data Providers: When querying external data providers (e.g., AWS Open Data Registry, Google Earth Engine), we ONLY transmit your bounding box coordinates (ROIs) and temporal ranges to retrieve imagery. Your personal identity is never shared with these external satellite imagery hosts.

4. Data Security

We implement rigorous, industry-standard security measures to protect your data. All communication between your browser and the Satrang backend occurs over encrypted HTTPS. However, no security system is impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee the complete security of our database, nor can we guarantee that information you supply won't be intercepted while being transmitted to us over the Internet.

5. Data Retention

We store the personal information we receive as described in this Privacy Policy for as long as you use our Services or as necessary to fulfill the purpose(s) for which it was collected, provide our Services, resolve disputes, establish legal defenses, conduct audits, pursue legitimate business purposes, enforce our agreements, and comply with applicable laws.

Depending on your location, you may have specific rights regarding your personal information, including:

• The right to access the personal information we hold about you.
• The right to request the correction of inaccurate personal information.
• The right to request the deletion of your account and associated telemetry data.
